I've been to my share of Thai and Vietnamese restaurants in the region, and Northern Thai certainly ranks near the top. The place is clean, if a bit dated in its decor. (And please, if you see this: change your front signage. Blah!) If you've never heard Thai pop music before, you're in for a treat for the next hour or so. Service is always attentive, courteous and mostly friendly. As with most Thai places, very willing to accommodate for vegetarians, too. The food is colourful, fresh and immensely tasty. Plenty of cilantro and basil to go around for all! The vegetables are plentiful and cooked to perfection. I'm particularly a fan of their Thai sticky rice, a nice change of pace from the standard jasmine rice that most places only offer: dense, flavourful, and arriving in it's own small steam basket. Their vegetable curries are jam-packed with a large variety of fresh veggies and thinly sliced tofu. Om nom noms, indeed! Read more

We have been to Mediteraneo several times. Each visit has always delivered an excellent meal. I usually have the Lamb dinner and while you might pay a bit more for this, it is a very large order, with delicious lemon roast potatoes, tzaziki, rice and a greek salad. Enough to share or take home to tmorrows lunch. I have also had the lamb souvlaki dinner and while you might only get one skewer of meat, you also get the rice, potato, salad and tzaziki. A friend gave us a couple of gift certificates for Dino's so we decided to go there for dinner. We got there around 5:30pm and were promptly seated. It was not that busy for a Monday evening. We ordered our drinks and the rib & wing combos. The combos included a choice of side ceasar or house salad or house soup. We got one of each of the salads and they were very good. The ceasar salad had real bacon bits and shredded parmasaen cheese on top. We got the house Jack Daniels BBQ sauce on the ribs & wings and it was AWESOME!!! The wings were decent sized and there was lots of meat on the ribs.... which fell right off the bone! The combo also included a small portion of veggies and choice of potato..(we got fries and sweet-potato fries). The desserts were ok.... the turtle cheese cake was a bit small but tasted good. The chocolate avalanche would have been better with brownie instead of chocolate cake. The waitress was very nice and checked on us a few times and refilled our drinks. Kismet is my go-to place for Indian/Bangladeshi food in Waterloo. I usually get take out because the space is pretty small, and I've never had a problem with the people at the cash. My partner is not a fan of cilantro and they've never given as a problem when we ask for items without. Their naan is the best I've had in Waterloo (Grain of Salt in Cambridge is the only place I've tried with better naan). Much better than the sort of pancakey stuff I've seen at other places *cough*Curry in a Hurry. I really like their aloo gobi, which is potato and caulifower with curry spices. My first visit was pleasant enough. We were greeted right away and accomodated for our party of 5. At first I was not really impressed with only the 'make your own stirfry' option for dinner but was told it was excellent. Tons of selection of meats, veggies and sauces...wasn't sure where to start! Guys at the fryer seemed to really enjoy their jobs, it was very entertaining to watch. Food was really yummy. Atmosphere was alright, didn't really notice any defectives like others are posting. Waitress was somewhat reliable in refilling our drinks. When it comes to tipping, the guys at the fryer really earn theirs however not sure about the waitresses as all they did was bring us water....nothing from the menu was ordered. The only downside to this place is the price (15.99 per person Mon-Thurs is the deal we did) but I guess for others it's an awesome price for the food. Read more

My husband and I dined at La Casa on Saturday night. We started with Mussels for appetizer - delicious...I wanted to drink the sauce it was so good. We also shared a Ceasar Salad. The dressing was very nice, perhaps a bit too much garlic (a little too overwhelming). Still tasty though. I ordered lobster pasta, all I can say is DELICIOUS! So tasty. I brought some home and was looking forward to eating it again the next day for lunch. My husband ordered beef tenderloin. Again, delicious! Tender, perfectly cooked and tasty. The waiter was very professional and friendly. We had a great time and a fantastic meal. No wonder La Casa is still one of the best restaurant's in London. It's so nice to go out for dinner and receive a great meal. The meals are not pretentious or overpriced (unlike other London restaurants in the downtown area). The food is simply delicious.
