We were greeted at the door by a respectful very friendly young woman named kirsten, then brought to our nice roomy comfortable booth at the side of the restaurant. we were greeted by our server straight away, Tina, who Brought our first round of drinks. Once we saw the menu we ordered nice and quickly, the menu was quite detailed. Salad and bread was brought to our table and the feast began. when tina brought our food to the table i joked that i might have to take it home. I was able to eat a couple of pieces and she kindly packed the rest up for me. I enjoyed the NY theme in this resaurant. Nice touches on their meals. Portions are not over sized, which is good if you don't want to overeat! I've had veal parmigiane (sp?) and the salmon with some unique sauce. The vegetables have been spectacular both times and like I said before, the presentation is pleasing. The house wine (by the glass) is decently priced and quite good. It is a bit pricey though. I would only go back for a very special occasion with my husband. It is a very romantic atmosphere. I am looking forward to going again. Read more

Had lunch here once and swore it was the best sushi I'd ever had in Ottawa. Ate here a week later and it was good but not great. I admit though that I am a sushi novice. The fish tank was very entertaining to the two young in our party (both under 5 years old) . For years my family of four and I have been ordering food from Lucky Dragon by delivery. We shave been BEYOND impressed by our delivery service, the delivery man is ALWAYS on time with a huge smile on his face and over all positive and happy vibe. After telling our delivery man that we've never been inside the physical location before he suggested that we go in and eat, so the following week we did. We were automatically seated by an Asian lady with bright red hair, she seemed nice and greeted us with small talk etc,. When we were ready to order we had to wait sevrel minutes even though we were the only table, the Lady(whom seems to be the owner) was to preoccupied with her phone. When she finally came over, we had a couple questions and she seemed annoyed to be answering them. After we got our food a couple more tables came in and it got louder and she turned up the music, I called her over to ask if she could turn this Spanish repetitive dance music down a bit considering my two kids were getting a bit cranky and she rolled her eyes and shot a mean glare to my TODDLERS and kept the music at the same level. Mama's Place is honestly the best pizza place anyone could look for. The service is amazing, with friendly waitresses, and a home-like feeling ambience. Not only the look of the place was amazing, but also the food. I have to say that the pizza is the best you will ever taste, crust is not to thin, or thick. Soft in the inside and crunchy on the outside. There is no dripping grease, lot's of cheese and everything taste fresh! I haven't tried all of there food ofcourse, but I am positive that they are just as deliciouse as the Pizza. Just put it as simply amazing. I would go there again, but sadly, I live hours away, just stopped in Almonte with my wife and one of our friends recommened Mama's Place, and we loved it! Read more

Came here on the recommendation of our friends and were delighted. Pilsner Urquell on tap and they make strawberry dacquiris which my wife loved. We had heard so much about the Borscht we had to try it and were not disappointed. Since it doesn't have meat it's nice and light with delicious flavour. The gypsy schnitzel had a lovely homemade ginger lemon chutney on it and my goulash came with dumplings. The service was attentive and friendly. I recently retired from the GTA and moved to Lanark Highlands. We decided to try your restaurant last weekend. My girlfriend had the goulash and I had the schnitzel which was the second best I've ever had. The best was my late mother's. But you did come a very close second. The prices I found were reasonable and not overpriced as some patrons would lead you to believe. And if you complain about the wait, remember you're not eating at McDonalds.
