Best place in town! Amazing and friendly service who genuinely care about their customers. Always fresh ingredients and no processed foods! Always will accommodate to your taste or allergies, the staff are the best here! The menu is wonderful, classic items such as the turkey club, with real, fresh turkey ( the best club around). The menu features some unique dishes as well that will surely please your palette. The fresh fruit salads and vinaigrette drizzles so amazing. Everyone should visit this place at least once in their life! Oh and you must try their signature homemade soup, tomato basil. The best! If you are going through Wiarton, STOP THERE!!!!!Read more
My husband and I were recently at the Mill Cafe for lunch with a few friends from out of town. We have been local to the area, but had not been in since the restaurant was renovated. The decor was delightful and vibrant, with unique artwork covering the walls. We were pleasantly greeted by our server who encouraged us to sit wherever we pleased. The menu was fun and fresh and we found it extremely difficult to have to choose from all the delicious items. Our lunch arrived very quickly, and we were more and more pleased with every bite. IT WAS EXTRAORDINARY! We felt very welcomed by both serving and kitchen staff (as this is an open concept restaurant) and we will gladly be back again! ... and again!Read more

Got rained out camping and was looking for a warm place with great food and we found it at Allan's Fireside Grill. Food was delicious, staff were freindly and welcoming and more than accomodating with our messy 13 month old daughter. Would highly recommend it.Read more

Local pub with small-town feel but a huge atmosphere. Well priced, diverse soul food menu, friendly staff, cottage-rustic vibe and a nice selection of beer.
We went on Wednesday Wing night and it was packed by 5:30 with a short line-up to get in. They had a table for us right away in a nice location. One of us wanted wings and asked if there were any dry-rubbed flavours, as there didn't appear to be any on the menu. To our delight they had a dry Cajun flavour that was excellent. Wings themselves were large and meaty and the vegetables that came with them were just enough and freshly cut. All of which was served with a generous stack of napkins and wet-wipes.
The other ordered the aptly named "Long-Weekend Burger" complete with cheddar & Swiss, sautéed mushrooms & caramelized onions and opted for sweet-potato fries as a side for an additional cost. (I don't know about you, but whenever there's a "long-weekend" in my circle there's always bacon involved ~ but they had another burger with some on it) The burger itself was huge, juicy, and did not have a lot of added flavouring allowing the true taste of the beef to come through. This allowed the flavour to be somewhat customized with the good selection of condiments delivered to the table. Freshly cut tomatoes & red onion topped it under a nice Kaiser roll. Sweet potato fries were plentiful, crisp, long and lightly dusted with sea salt to be complimented by white or malt vinegar and/or their own house dip.
Beers were served in a frosted glass, which compelled us to have more than one ~ otherwise this would be in the $11-25 range!
Bathrooms were clean and adequate. House was well-kept. The only gripe we had was the dim lighting which made it hard to read the Trivial Pursuit cards at each table (which were a very nice touch, even though they were obviously an older US edition!)
It's rare to have a great dining experience in such a packed house. Overall this was a great meal and it will likely become a default destination if we can't decide where else to try.Read more

Interesting and varied new menu items highlight a new season in this well-established eatery. The three-course Friday night special I had was truly wonderful, exciting, flavourful food. A mesclum mix was restrained by slices of cucumber, sliced lengthwise and curved to form a holder for the leaves, the whole drizzled with a piquant apple-based vinagrette. The pork tenderloin entree was three large pieces stuffed with a savoury dressing that was so tasty and plentiful that while I finished the pork, I took the rest of the stuffing home. Dessert was a chocolate/caramel custard in a crunchy pastry shell, topped with fresh strawberries and blackberries. Portion size gave good value for the price which was reasonable for the quality. Presentation throughout was as artistic as any classy place in Toronto but the outstanding things about the meal, to my mind, were the number of homemade items (dressing, stuffing, pudding, pastry) and the commitment to flavour everywhere. Outstanding!Read more

I've eaten here many times since moving to the area and have introduced several friends to it now too.
It's a small little place with a hockey theme. The booths are kind of small and can be a little claustrophobic, but there are tables out in the open area as well.
The food is usually really good. I recommend their nachos. These are not your usual nachos, but are made with cross-cut potatoes with your nacho fixings on top (beef, jalapenos, cheese, olives, peppers). If you're not a big eater, just have this appetizer and you'll be full.
The salads are fresh and there are usually some creative things on the specials board. Soups are good and homemade.
And if you're a hockey fan, you might run into a few of the Owen Sound Attack on occasion too.Read more

Mostly excellent food here. Had one bad lunch where we were not impressed with the food taste on a few items. Off day? The other dozen visits food was excellent!
Recommend the feta and spinach frittata! The included fruit tidbits are typically really fresh and tasty too.
Service is good, friendly and fairly quick food delivery.
I am not affilited with this resturant in any way.
Would definately recommend to my friends.Read more
This place is fabulous! We managed to get seats at the bar ( having realized that you need a reservation; plenty of other have the same idea when it comes to Sunday Brunch... ) and were treated to a culinary feast with one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. The menu is short but extremely well designed with each dish a perfect harmony of exquisite flavors. My boyfriend and I shared the Salmon Benny and the BLT, both were mouth wateringly amazing. I would highly recommend anyone who likes brunch to take the trip to Eugenia and visit the Flying Chestnut, it is well worth the drive!Read more

My husband and I were vacaying in Sauble Beach and came across this gem for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We order saucages on the side. Not realising how big the bacon and eggs breakfast would be. Having spent many forgettable hours in the old Pacific when it was a straight bar with a pool table, I was intrigued to see what the new owners had done especially as being from Jamaica, they have introduced some staples from The Islands into their menu. Pool table long gone and nicely laid out tables with linen napkins (!!), fresh dark paint greeted us. Orville, the owner's son welcomed us and his evident enthusiasm for the jerk chicken roti convinced my friend (who generally is a very fussy and unadventurous eater) and I to try that. It comes with choice of salad or soup of the day which on this Saturday night was curried pea (chick peas). The soup was excellent: thick, creamy, flavourful with just enough curry to satisfy and not spicy hot at all but warming as soup should be. Jodi took over and brought our roti which was full of flavour, once again mild in heat but you can have (as I did) a side bowl with some wickedy hot Jamaican sauce. The shredded chicken/potato combination was wrapped in a phyllo pastry adding richness to the warm mouthfeel of the dish. It and the soup was a really full meal. After-dinner coffee was very, very strong. Extremely friendly service and the tasty entrees make this a delightful addition in a veritable wasteland for well-prepared, good food. I'll be interested to try their take on some of the many regular menu items (steaks, pork, burgers, etc., etc.).Read more
